Dear Parents,
Another school year has ended. Thank you for your cooperation and support. The students looked wonderful this year in the new uniforms. May we remind you of a few things regarding the uniforms.
Skirts, skorts and jumpers should be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee front and back. They will be measured with a ruler touching the floor and having the girls kneel. Sunshine employees are happy to measure for you. Longer lengths of skorts and skirts are available by special order. Please purchase them long so as your daughter grows, her skirt will not become too short forcing you top purchase a replacement during the school year. Also, there is a new style skirt for grades 6 8. It is a low-rise wrap skirt that the girls may find more comfortable than the traditional skirt.
Sixth, seventh and eighth grade blouses also have to pass the Superman Test. The girls should be able to raise their arms toward the ceiling without their midriff showing. Students and teachers are happy to have untucked blouses, but they must fit correctly. Either the regular sleeve length or Ύ sleeve length is allowed this year.
Tennis Shoes Remember when buying tennis shoes: buy all white. Our children often want us to buy the most stylish shoes on the market, but they do not always fit the uniform policy. Shoes must be all white with only a small colored logo.
Green polo shirts or white blouses may be worn by the kindergarten, first and second grade girls with skorts or jumpers. Kindergarten through fifth grade girls may also wear long navy pants on cold days with the green polos if they wish. Otherwise, white tights can be worn with the jumper or skort.
There is one change to the uniform policy affecting the boys. All boys will be required to wear long pants from November 1, 2007 until April 1, 2008. Boys in Kindergarten through third grade may wear all white tennis shoes. Boys in grades 4-8 will wear bucks during this same time period.
The navy sweater may still be worn, but it is being phased out. Students may wear the gray CKCS sweatshirt or the navy hooded sweatshirt. Students in grades 6-8 have the option of wearing the regular fleece or the hooded sweatshirt.
The uniform will be checked during the first week of school.
Remember! Uniforms can be purchased on-line or at the Sunshine Store in Daphne, 625-4441.
Thank you for your help keeping our uniform looking great!
