Hello from PTO!

One of my favorite quotes from the bible is “I can do all things through Christ the Lord who strengthens me”.  My oldest child quickly reminds me that it came from Philippians 4:13.  He knows that because he has had the benefit of catholic education at CKCS and is now a sophomore at McGill-Toolen.  I didn’t attend catholic schools but I have learned some good stuff along the way through bible study and listening to others.   I quote that phrase because it inspires me.   It gives me the confidence needed when faced with challenges or new experiences.  This year as we approached the 60th Anniversary CKCS extravaganza weekend, as I like to call it, I again relied on the truth of those words and knew they would apply to everyone carrying it off.

Many years ago the Pumpkin Festival was in fact a weekend long event but over time, it was streamlined into a single afternoon.  This year, in celebration of our 60 years, we had big ideas and because many believe the same as I do, that all things are possible, it was carried off triumphantly!   It’s a wonderful thing to see so many work so hard for such a great cause in the name of God.  I think Grandparents day was terrific and a wonderful way to share our children’s school with extended family. The Kings Supper, even though in competition with many other events was indeed a success!  The food, decorations, auction items and entertainment were nothing less than perfect.   And finally, the Pumpkin Festival, as always, provided great Sunday afternoon fun with our friends and family.  What initially seemed like a challenging mountain to climb turned out to be just another challenge we met together. You should be proud of your great efforts because they will benefit our school in a very positive way.  Thank you so much for helping make a great tribute to 60 years of CKCS.  Truly all things can be done through Him.

Celebrating Catholic Schools Week

Theme: Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life

Catholic Schools Week Schedule!

We will celebrate Catholic School's Week January 31 - February 5.
We invite others to celebrate Catholic Schools and the people who have made contributions to our communities during this week. Catholic schools students, teachers and parents are called to proclaim Gospel values and celebrate God's goodness. The Catholic school community is founded on the shoulders of the parish, civic community, and families that have gone before us with sacrifice and dedication to seek truth and right through Catholic education. We celebrate with the wider community as we claim the heritage and contributions of Catholic School to our neighborhood, city, state and nation.
