2009-2010 Toy Bowl Team
CKCS received the 2nd place trophy in the 2009 CYO Toy Bowl Banner Contest. Congratulations to our 8th grade. 
 
2009-2010 Scholar's Bowl Team

We would like to congratulate both the A and B Scholar’s Bowl Teams. Both team won their matches in Wednesday’s competition, maintaining their undefeated record. The A and B teams played very strong against Mobile County, winning both the matches with great scores. Both teams then played tough games against Bayside and won in Sudden Death overtime. Great job by all our Scholar Bowl players!

2009-2010 Chess Team
 
The Chess Team's December Match
The CKCS chess team did well in the 3rd meet of the Baldwin County Chess League on Thursday afternoon.  They  won 3 and tied 2 of 8 total matches played against teams from Bayside, Daphne, and Robertsdale High Schools and Spanish Fort Elementary.   Competing for CKCS were Marissa Cazalas. Garner Graves, Aldric Koolman, Jon Simmons, Brennan Griffin, Tyler Bekurs, Jackson Lemon. Cole Tomberlin, Cory Johnston, Mary Ann Florey, Clara Coppoletta, Tommy O'Hara, Dawson Jellenc, and Tripp Coppoletta.
 
Our next match will be the Thursday after we return from Christmas break.

 
The Chess Team's November Match 
The team won matches against a Bayside Middle School team and several Spanish Fort Elementary School teams, losing matches to several teams including 2 high school teams.
18 CKCS students participated: Marissa Cazalas. Garner Graves, Jon Simmons, Brennan Griffin, Chris Doehring, Jacob Dyas, Tyler Bekurs, Cole Tomberlin, Chris Kalifeh, Roch Leavitt, Aldric Koolman, Jackson Lemon, Mary Ann Florey, Allie Leavitt, Clara Coppoletta, Cory Johnston, Ian Austill, and Nicholas Austill.
 
We were 4 and 5 overall.

 
The Chess Team's October Match 
The Chess Team traveled to Daphne High School on 10/1/09 for the 1st round of the Mobile-Baldwin County Chess League.  Our teams were successful in defeating teams from Daphne High School, Bayside Academy, and Spanish Fort Elementary.  Eighteen 3rd through 8th graders competed for CKCS.  Our next league match is the first Thursday in October.
